"Rifts novels"
| |
Good morning/afternoon/evening ladies, gemtlemen, mutants, and aliens! This is just the Urlorde wondering whether or not anyone has read the Rifts novels. Well, have you? Urlorde is wondering what your thought on them are. Did anyody else notice the famous Palladium Books editing? Since this is the general discussion area I thought that this was generally related to the site. I've just finished reading the books myself and I wanted some feedback from someone else since I don't know anyone around me that has read them. "Poke the Dragon with the pointed stick!" |

The first book is filled with errors, but that's due to printer error (at least that was what I was told). I believe the second printing run of the first novel will have them corrected. The other two novels in the first trilogy were great, much better in terms of editing and everything. Overall, I really enjoyed the series. Thoth |

I think that my favorite part of the novels was trying to identify items in the books from just their descriptions. It was kinda like being on the inside of something. Plus knowing specific stats for things such as top speed, MDC, or the anount of damage able to be inflicted. Also, it did give me a way of looking at the character classes as something other than just a series of stats. It also really gave some excellent views on how the coalition high command could, and should, be played and how it all affects the common soldier out in the field. I also must say that the Hatchling Great Horned Dragon was wonderful comic relief.(If you don't know why...read the books!)The Crazy was also particularly entertaining. As for the editing..........that's Palladium........ "Poke the Dragon with the pointed stick!" |
